One of the most magnificent piece of technology I have ever seen in my life, is Microsoft’s HoloLens, surely it is all set to change the world. Microsoft gave a deep insight on HoloLens information, education and demonstrations during its Build 2016 developers conference in San Francisco from March 30th to 1st April.
Holoportation is a new type of 3D capture technology that allows high-quality 3D models of people to be reconstructed, compressed and transmitted anywhere in the world in real time. User needs to wear a virtual reality headsets to see and interact with remote users in 3D as if they were in the same space, according to Microsoft. This technology allows users to see, hear, and interact with remote participants in 3D as if they are actually present physically.
The Holoportation project is a brain child of Microsoft Research Interactive 3D Technologies (I3D) team, which works on projects that combine “research on 3D graphics, computer vision, machine learning, novel hardware, augmented reality and NUI (natural user interfaces),” according to that group’s page.
Microsoft HoloLens enables you to interact with the provided content and the information in the most natural ways possible. It has got built-in sensors, which let you use your gaze to move the cursor with your head direction, wherever your head turns the cursor will follow. User can use simple gestures to open apps, select and size items, and finally drag and drop the desired holograms in your real world.Another way to handle this technique is the voice command usage, which allows the user to navigate, select, open, command, and control your apps. You can speak directly to Cortana, to complete tasks.
The very first development edition is already out in USA & Canada at the cost of $3,000. You can order yours after filling an application form to show you’ll help build the future of holographic computing with Micosoft with an inspired idea.
So lets see, share and do together with Microsoft’s Holoportation and go beyond your visualization..
